Double L Farm Speed Horses was established in 2009. However, Lenny and Lisa have been the horse business for over 30 years. Lenny was born and raised in West Virginia and his father and grand-father raised ponies & horses. Lisa was raised in Winchester, Virginia on a cattle farm and her grandmother bought her first pony at age 7.

Since then, both have developed a passion and love for horses as well as a compassion for horses that have been abused, neglected or used hard and then "thrown away". Lisa has a Masters in Counseling and specializes in providing therapeutic riding and equine psychotherapy as well as help breed, raise and train her own barrel horses. She has been riding the professional barrel circuits since 1996.

Lenny is an equine dental technician and is the heart of the breeding program. He handles our stallions, helps train them and has a gift of "understanding and listening to the horse" and the horse's needs.

We specialize in reprogramming or retraining horses that have been labeled "problem horses". We also believe that there are "no bad horses, just misunderstood horses". Lisa also provides riding instruction and specializes in speed and performance riding. She believes that horse/rider synchronicity and balanced riding is the key to winning. She is AQHA Professional Horseman, APHA Youth Development Trainer and CHA Certified Riding Instructor.

Our breeding program consist of proven horses and proven bloodlines. We breed for not only color and speed, but for conformation and disposition. Most of our mares are retired barrel, race and performance winners. A few were injured and unable to perform. Our stallions are all proven bloodlines and proven winners.
